To recommend the right BMS, we need to know: 1. Is your battery Li-ion (3.7V) or LiFePO4 (3.2V)? 2. How many cells are in series? 3. What is the peak power/wattage of your motor or load and its application?
How to activate the BMS?
Smart BMS requires activation on first use. Methods include: 1. Using the activation switch on the power board. 2. Pressing the button on the Bluetooth module. 3. Charging activation (B-line must be connected to the total negative pole).
What is the balance function?
When a cell reaches the balance voltage (Li-ion 4.18V, LiFePO4 3.6V), the balancer discharges it at 35mA while others continue charging. This ensures all cells reach a balanced voltage status for optimal battery health.
What type of charger should I use?
Always use a specific Lithium charger. Lead-acid chargers may damage the MOS. For LiFePO4, the charger voltage should be [strings x 3.6V]. For Li-ion, it should be [strings x 4.2V].
